Our story

In February 2022, Derek Godfrey (Bowmanville, ON) founded the Lambretta Club of Canada Facebook group, quickly gathering 125 members. With support from Jean-François Bourque and Kelmany Ross, he worked to establish a national club. By Spring 2024, they launched their website, secured nonprofit status, and trademarked the club. Now led by an executive team and board, the club collaborates globally with Innocenti.com and Lambretta.com, putting Canada on the Lambretta map as a destination for riders everywhere.

Our history

Canadian scooter culture is shaped by countless influences, yet its stories are often shared only in passing—between friends at a rally, over the legshield of a Lambretta idling at a stoplight. Riders recount their adventures, whether strapped into a milk cart on a Lambretta’s tire mount, cruising on their dad’s scooter, or watching parents ride two-up for miles to work because a car was too costly. Many of these stories fade with time, but the Lambretta Club of Canada is committed to preserving them—and we need your help.

Canada has an inspiring reputation of grassroots passionate advocates of the Lambretta . We celebrate everyone’s contributions to promoting the Lambretta scene in Canada. We are committed to featuring their hard work in our quarterly newsletter.

The Lambretta Club of Canada stands as a national organization, led by founders, an executive committee, and a board of directors. Membership ensures the club continues its mission of safeguarding Lambretta’s legacy in Canada—linking past, present, and future to keep the brand alive for generations to come.
